KP LANGUAGE CENTER

The Mission of KP is to provide to Rwandan Society and Churches well trained personnel who are transformational  leaders, s equipped with intellectual  and ethical tools that enable them to meet specific needs of societies that are moving to a global, modern and pluralistic world.  This mission cannot be achieved if the challenge of insufficient communication skills that many Rwandese in general and younger generations in particular are facing is not met.As globalization and mobility are bringing the world ever closer together, ever more urgent is the need for global citizens to be competent in other languages. So to achieve the dream of a world, African continent without dividing lines, Rwanda needs citizens who can all communicate in as many languages as possible spoken within its existing and potential partners.Vision 2050 offers a picture   of Rwanda as a nation founded on core human values within a knowledge-based and technology led economy. In addition, Rwandan Education Board (REB) has also recently issued recommendations for the future university graduation requirements of having successfully demonstrated good command of English and awarded TOEL & IELTS certificate.

It has also been reality that the non academic community needs English for their personal or occupational and professional interests.Ultimately it is now a requirement for some job seekers, visa applications for international travelling purposes and even abroad course enrolment to provide language ability certificate or pass language interview tests (in TOEFL or IELTS).In light of the above, there is a growing demand of special IELTS – TOEFL General Training at the end of which people can pull a Printed certificate enabling to migrate and study or train in English-speaking countries. It is also hoped that this language centre will be a solution to language teachers’ challenges of handling large classes owing to its design of being self-study.With the advent of scientific sophistication and technological breakthroughs emphasis will therefore be placed on the teaching and learning of languages  at KP   to make  its graduates and  staff   readily competitive in these innovations  that require fluency in the  various  languages  to ensure efficiency on the job market.
It has also been evident, , that  students face difficulties coping with academic courses in English as a new medium of instruction in which they are yet not proficient.
